SIR— The intentions of Catherine Ruhweza’s ‘Mama Tendo’ in The New Vision’s ‘Women’s Vision’ are commendable. However, I feel that her son, Master Tendo’s rights are not being respected by his private life being made the subject in a public newspaper week after week complete with a picture of him.

He is too young to express his opinion on this, being just under two years old. I suggest that Ruhweza publishes issues that concern her personally but keeps memoirs on those that are personal to Master Tendo.

These memoirs can be published with his clear consent when he is of an age that understands the implications of such publications. Master Tendo might be a sweet little bundle of joy now, but his type do grow up and become something that the Ruhwezas might need protection from.

With the current trends in the legal world, especially with children, Master Tendo could in future be entitled to sue his mother for not protecting his privacy as an infant and thus seek a share of every penny she might have made from the column, before asking for interest. Who knows?
