EDGAR Watson struck the sole goal in Bugiri as table leaders SC Villa bounced back to pole position in the national Super League yesterday.
SC Villa’s captain found the net deep in the first half to give the champions a fourth consecutive victory of the season.
SC Villa took no chances against George Ssemogerere’s side and stuck to their belief that if they continued to attack eventually the opposing defense would be broken down and that came to reality when Watson scored a volley in the 39th minute against the run of play.
In Wankulukuku, adversaries Express FC cruised to a 3-1 win over minnows Ruhinda.
Showing intelligence and tactical awareness, Express completed a conquest that had for long in the game seemed to be impossible.
Digging deep in their seemingly bottomless pit of experience and desire, James Sianga’s team rose and scored three goals through Richard Malinga, Kamotera Kamongera and Ismail Kintu.
Sianga played around with his starting formation, adopting a fluid 4-3-3 formation, which gave free license to the three front men.
Godfrey Kateregga flitted from left to right and sometimes operated as a pivotal forward, while Kamontera switched at free will.
The resulting effect was promising with Express creating decent chances against the league newcomers.
