The Austrian Government has released 70,000 euro to facilitate the on-going sixth Uganda Development Theatre Association Cultural festival.

The four-day cultural extravaganza at the Ndere Centre in Kigoowa, which attracted 40 groups from 37 districts, ends tomorrow.

Austria has also sent a 27-man delegation to attend the event.

“These people bring a higher level of stage perfection, new ideas and professionalism in performance,” the founder and director of Ndere Troupe, Stephen Rwangyezi said.

The delegation, which arrived on Wednesday was treated to African traditional music by the Ndere Troupe.

Through the Vienna Institute of Development Co-operation, the Austrian government funded the construction of the centre.

The bonanza has been graced by performances from the Austrian and other international music and dance groups.
