The Wrigley Company East Africa Limited, makers of Orbit Chewing Gum have announced a name change for their brands.
During a press conference last week, Bazhan Sikudhan, the financial director said the brands will take on the name PK, which means Packed Tight, Kept Right.
The Wrigley Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of William Highly Junior, a Chicago based firm. All their products except the ones in East Africa are branded as PK.
“It became imperative for Wrigley management to re-align all brands internationally depending on what they deliver to the market,” Sidukhan said.
Orbit was launched in East Africa in 1972 and has been enjoyed by consumers as a high quality chewing gum for refreshing breath.
James Omole, the marketing manager said the brand is sugar-free.
