During a press conference last week, Bazhan Sikudhan, the financial director said the brands will take on the name PK, which means Packed Tight, Kept Right. The Wrigley Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of William Highly Junior, a Chicago based firm. All their products except the ones in East Africa are branded as PK. “It became imperative for Wrigley management to re-align all brands internationally depending on what they deliver to the market,†Sidukhan said. Orbit was launched in East Africa in 1972 and has been enjoyed by consumers as a high quality chewing gum for refreshing breath. James Omole, the marketing manager said the brand is sugar-free. Ends
