Over 400 NRM/A veteran fighters in Nebbi district have complained about government failure to pay their gratuity and pension arrears.
Addressing a press conference at Satellite One guest house in Nebbi town, their vice-chairman, Julius Okethi, said the Government had not paid them since 2001.

NAKAWA Division will recruit 100 Local Defence Unit (LDUs) personnel by June this year.
Division LDU commander Sam Mangeni yesterday told a meeting at Banda parish that this was aimed at curbing petty theft and marijuana smoking.
Defiler jailed
A-20-year-old local drycleaner was on Tuesday sentenced to one month’s imprisonment by the High Court after pleading guilty to defiling a-13- year-old, whom he made pregnant.
Charles Katumwa pleaded with court for leniency, saying he wanted to go home and look after his new family.
Kunta Kinte pledges
AMERICAN film star John Amos alias (Kunta Kinte)has pledged to assist the Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda to start cultural development projects in Buganda.
Amos, met the Nnaba-gereka at her office in Bulange on Wednesday and promised to promote African culture.
Strike closer
LAST minute attempts by the Medical Workers’ Union executive to avert the health workers’ strike failed on Tuesday when the medical workers brought the strike three weeks forward to March 9.
They had earlier scheduled it for April 2. The unsuccessful talks were held at Mulago Hospital.
Cop arrested
THE Police in Mbarara have arrested a traffic officer following allegations that he obtained a bribe from a taxi driver. Constable Ernest Baluku, 33, was arrested on Monday after the owner of the vehicle complained.
