Early last year, James Baganda of Ankole Production, a group of singers, released a six-track album, Roza which left many people nodding and wanting. The singers surprised us when he exhibited his excellent ability to compose and sing.
This time around, he has not abandoned his career. Baganda is back with a new captivating album, Nkwihehi Mr. Sente/money. The album, is the third after his debut album Obusingye and Roza the second one, which was released in April 2003.
Baganda’s deep voice, which comes out clearly manifests his ability to sing. And this gives his tracks perfection, authenticity and attractiveness to many of his fans. Although the album has only Runyankole songs, it enjoys airplay on most FM radios in the country
The lead track, Nkwihehi sente (money), is diligently composed and Baganda wonders where money is hiding.
He asserts, through this track that every one looks for money including children, women and the disabled. Money is the only highly valued, but a scarce item. It is always hidden and worst of all, it causes conflicts ranging from domestic, national to international levels
Baganda’s music is a blend of ragga and techno. It was recorded sometime back at Namex Studio and distributed by Lusyn Enterprises in Kampala. Although he used Swahili in his previous albums, this one has only Runyankole songs. Like his previous albums, it is difficult to understand his message in this new album as well. However, his voice and the blend of his music is really fantastic and exciting to everyone.
