Why Xtians Call Jesus ‘Saviour’

SIR— Although I have not seen the film what I have read about it, and the reaction of some of the people who have seen it, especially the Jews, gives me the courage to comment on it.
First of all, I commend Mel Gibson for the courage to make the film in such a way that people are reacting to it. For a long time, we have watched films of Christ being crucified and made to look like he was just “posing” with no pain whatsoever. Let us Christians watch this film and stop playing at being “Christian.”
We need to realise that although salvation is free, it cost the Saviour Jesus Christ excruciating pain and of course, death in the end.
Secondly, as for our brothers and sisters the Jews, since Gibson did not want to make another. “doctored” version of the suffering of Christ, there was nothing he could do but to show it as it was. Let them remember the words of Jesus which he uttered as he hang on the cross: Father, forgive them because they did not know what they are doing.
