TWO passengers died and over 30 others were critically injured when a Jaguar coach overturned several times at Nyarugando in Ntungamo district.

The Kisoro-Kampala bound bus, UAD 0462Z, crashed yesterday at about 9:30am, the traffic Police said.

The accident occurred after the front tyre burst, causing the bus to swerve off the road.

Ntungamo OC traffic Godfrey Mwebembezi identified the victim as Ronald Zimula a parish chief of Bufubira, Kyamuswa in Kalangala district.

Zimula died when the bus crushed him underneath after he had jumped out.

The victims were taken to Itojo hospital while others were admitted at several clinics in Kabale town.
The bus driver and conductor fled the scene of the accident.

Police said residents took off with most of the passenger’s cash, luggage and other goods. Ends
