THE Nabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda, has told graduates not to despair when looking for jobs.
“During your job search, you will feel like giving up many times and you will start wondering why you went to school. But please never give up and no matter what, keep on pushing until you get a job,” Nagginda said.
In a speech read by Mengo education minister John Muyingo at the graduation ceremony of Uganda Catholic Social Training Centre, Rubaga on Wednesday, Nagginda urged the graduates to protect their integrity at work and avoid activities that will make them vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.
“Be ambassadors in advocating for girl-education, the fight against HIV/AIDS and other STDs, and welfare of all Ugandans. Live responsibly,” Nagginda said.
Muyingo criticised Ugandans for doing business as a hobby which, he said had led to the collapse of many businesses.
He asked the graduates to go into business as a way of earning a living and with the aim of making profits.
87 students of which 69 were females were awarded diplomas and certificates in various business related courses.
