PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) has told companies to improve their staffing policies or lose their skilled manpower to other countries following regionalisation of the market.

Steven Odeu reports that PWC’s country leader Joseph Baliddawa said Uganda had professional skills which are scarce on the market.

“This raises motivation and retention issues for good skills when found. However, there is need for individuals to have the skills required to meet organisational objectives in the medium to long-term,” Baliddawa said.

That was in respect to the human resource survey they did for the HR Survey Club recently.

“These outputs will assist management in making informed decisions in pursuit of excellence.

The labour market has now become so critical that if you are operating below average, you are doomed to fail,” he said.
