HMs, why treat parents like that?

SIR— Lujumba Preparatory School is a day and boarding school situated 22 miles on the Kampala-Masaka road. Last Monday, the management of the school decided to send back home boarding pupils whose parents had not yet completed payment of school fees.
Even those with a balance of sh10,000. Regardless of age, pupils were dumped at Mpigi Trading Centre from where they connected to their homes (mind you pupils come from different parts of Uganda.
We are wondering why the management of the school decided to send back these pupils when visitation day is due on April 4 when they should have asked us to pick our children for fees.
Another problem is public relations.
When some parents telephoned the director of the school to iron out some of the issues, he just hung up while the parents were still talking.
Yet co-operation with parents contributes a lot to the success of a school.
