FEDERATION OF Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will send ten officials to escort the 20 players that will be travelling to Germany for the 2006 World Cup/Africa Nations Cup qualifying round two weeks build up.
The players will be well looked after, because every two players will have an official to care for them on the trip set for May 2-14, an official said.

FUFA and their Germany counterparts are contributing towards the trip, which will see Uganda Cranes play a number of build up games ahead of their opening qualifier match with DR Congo in June.
FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda yesterday told the weekly Top Radio Super League press briefing at Lugogo that they had to have that number of officials because so many things are to be discussed.

“We are not only going for the build up matches. Some officials will hold talks with our Germany counterparts about the Meridian project and how they can improve,” said Mawanda.
Mawanda also clarified that the hosts will not pay the Uganda delegation any allowances, but FUFA will instead pay the players’ allowances.

Meanwhile, former league committee vice chairman Chris Kalibbala has been appointed secretary of the technical committee. He will be replacing Jimmy Kirunda who is currently out of the country.
Coaches Mike Mutebi and Frank ‘Video’ Anyau were meanwhile confirmed and will handle the Cranes for the next 12 months.
