THE executive director of Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Dr. Maggie Kigozi, has said despite the war in northern Uganda, Gulu is still a potential area for investment, reports Harriette Onyalla. “The people in Gulu have decided that they are not going to wait for the guns to stop before undertaking business ventures. They have already began,†Kigozi said. She said this at a meeting of the Uganda Change Agent Association (UCAA) at Ellys Motel in Seeta on Saturday. Kigozi said under the Gulu Reconstruction Programme being funded by DfID, residents had began taking advantage of the beautiful sceneries and cultural sites to promote tourism in the area. Kigozi who is also the UCAA patron said local investors were already looking at Gulu for commercial agriculture because of its favourable climate, vast flat land and fertile soils. Ends
