THE works ministry has expressed satisfaction at the quality of the recently repaired Nansana-Busunju Road.
This was said by Shabir Alidina, the manager of the ministry’s Road Agency Formation Unit (RAFU)’ engineering division recently.
“The road now looks like a new one. Even Dr. A. Babalola, an official of the Tunis-based African Development Bank(ADB), has been here to inspect it,” he said.
Spencon Services Ltd, a local firm, re-sealed the 47-km road and five other city roads at sh7.9b.
Alidina said both RAFU and the South African-based project consultants, Consult 4, were satisfied with the work.
It was repaired by funds from the ADB.
In his 2001 presidential election manifesto, President Yoweri Museveni said he would ensure the Government repaired most of the roads.
Ongoing road projects include Busunju-Hoima, Karuma-Pakwach, Gayaza-Kalagi roads and the Kampala northern by-pass.
Tenders have been invited for Kafu-Masindi Road project.
