DRIVERS will want early route reccing for the Alpha Mbarara rally May 15-16.
Eighty percent of the rally that will start and end in Mbarara will run on roads never used for rallying before.
“I would advise competitors to go for recce as early as possible. I think it will be more challenging than the previous rallies in Mbarara, drivers will tell you after doing recce,†said clerk of course Justin Mungoma, famed for designing challenging routes.
The united Motor Sport Club (UMOSPOC) organised rally will go through Sanga, Kakooba, Kasenyo, Ruti, Hamukaaga, Bwizira and Biharwe among others.
Mungoma said, “I deviated from the usual roads looking for those where there isn’t much traffic.
Drivers don’t want traffic and roads with little traffic tends to be rough. I don’t expect drivers to complain because you can eat your cake and have it.â€
The fifth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) sponsored by Alpha Dairy Products will be launched this week.
