US aids Masaka school

THE United States ambassador, Jimmy Kolker, has advised the youth to become role models in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the local community.

Speaking at the launch of Agali Awamu Welding and Vocational School at Kijjabwemi in Masaka Municipality recently, Kolker advised the youth to learn financial management and development planning.

“You should be role models in the fight against HIV/AIDS and be the leaders in your society. Teach the people how to avoid AIDS so that you make a remarkable contribution to your society,” he said.

Kolker, who donated sh10m to the school founded by six youths, thanked them for utilising the funds to buy land and build a workshop.

Robert Byabajjungu, the chairperson of the group, said they would work for success.
Michelle Nikundiwe, the project adviser, attended.
