JINJA director of health services Dr. Stephen Kirya has decried the high rate of HIV/AIDS in the district.
He said whereas the national average figures were at 6.2%, Jinja’s rate was between 10-15%.
Kirya was giving a report on HIV/AIDS in Bugiri district at the launching of voluntary counselling and testing services at Buyinja health centre on Wednesday.
He said sex trade in Idudi and Naluwerere and lack of health services increased the AIDS rate.
