Mbale LC5 chairman Bernard Mujasi has appealed to the Government to give the newly-elected Mbale municipality MP, Sylvester Wanjusi Wasieba, a befitting appointment

Mbale LC5 chairman Bernard Mujasi has appealed to the Government to give the newly-elected Mbale municipality MP, Sylvester Wanjusi Wasieba, a befitting appointment, reports Nathan Etengu.

He told health minister Brigadier Jim Muwhezi that the Government should reciprocate the support the Bamasaba from Mbale and Sironko gave Wasieba, a Movement supporter, in the bye-election.

Mujasi was talking to Muhwezi who was touring Busiu health centre.

The tour was prompted by reports that the centre was in a bad state. Former FRONASA sympathisers told President Yoweri Museveni in Rwakitura that the health facility was poorly facilitated.

“Government should see to it that it puts Wanjusi Wasieba in some position where the Bamasaba would feel comfortable,” Mujasi said.

Mujasi said Wasieba’s appointment would be strategic for the Movement’s mobilisation programmes in Bugisu.

He allayed fears that the tribal sentiments reflected in the bye-election were intended to undermine other ethnic groups.

“There was nothing like tribalism. It was political preference because the Bamasaba regard Mbale municipality as the heart of their land,” he said.
