KUMI — LC5 chairman Ismael Orot has urged the Government to quickly end the northern war. Officiating at the Child and Family Day celebrations at Mukongoro sub-county recently, Orot said the war destroyed families and increased the number of orphans and widows in the country.

LCs accused
BUSIA — Parish and village local council chairpersons have accused the LC3 executive members of awarding tenders without first advertising them. The chairpersons recently walked out of a town council budget meeting at the Social Hall, saying the town clerk had influenced the councillors during the tendering process.

RDC asks
KUMI — RDC Charles Mubiru has asked district leaders to investigate and closely monitor the activities of NGOs in the area. Meeting over 300 NGOs at the PAC Hall recently, Mubiru said some NGOs operating in the district had not registered.
