A new radio station, an investment worth sh500m, has hit the airwaves.
Touch FM on frequency 95.9, is a member of the Bro Group Holdings Limited, Threeways Shipping Services Limited, Transtrac, Mackenzie Internal Container Depot and Threeways Distribution Limited.
“Three years ago, the board thought of something to reward corporate and individual clients for making us succeed in business and resolved to open up a radio station,” Oscar Baitwa, the board chairman said at the launch last week.
The station which covers Mpigi, Entebbe, Luweero, Mukono and Jinja is located on Tufnel Drive in Kamwokya.
Batwa said the station targets investors, managing directors and chief executive officers who have opinions about improving the country’s investment climate.
“It will also target the middle and upper-middle income earners and help them widen income sources, Baitwa said.
He said the radio would broadcast current affairs, local and global news features, culture, gossip, entertainment and exclusive interviews.
“One of the radio’s objectives is to contribute to the consolidation of emerging markets and create a favourable economic environment,” Baitwa said.
