THE Picfare management has distanced itself from any malpractice involving entry tickets for the Cranes/ DR Congo match at Namboole on Sunday.

It had been alleged that more than 100 fans found their way into the stadium using photostat copies of “tickets printed by Picfare”.

Picfare official Onyango Kakoba said in a statement that the firm was only contracted to print the tickets which they handed to the organisers.

“What could have happened after was none of our responsibility,” he said.

Kireka police in-charge Musa Nabende also denied anyone had been arrested. Jinja Road police divisional boss Francis Tumushabe also demanded evidence of arrests from FUFA.

In another development, Ibrahim Sekajja believes the current Cranes team will help Uganda triumph in the 2006 Nations Cup/World qualifying campaign.

The scorer of Cranes goal against DR Congo said, “It feels great turning out for Cranes now,” while being rewarded sh0.5m prize money for his priceless effort from Property Masters yesterday.

Coaches Mike Mutebi, Frank Anyau and manager Asuman Lubowa got sh0.1m each.

Meanwhile, ex-internationals Polly Ouma and Jackson Mayanja have hailed the Cranes.

Polly Ouma said “I must thank Sekajja who came all the way from defence to secure Uganda a win.
