Police chief transfers 23 CID officials

The inspector general of Police, Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala, has transferred 23 officers in a reshuffle of the criminal investigations department (CID).<br>

The inspector general of Police, Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala, has transferred 23 officers in a reshuffle of the criminal investigations department (CID).
Those affected include George Kanonko, who has been the Central Police Station CID chief become Kampala CID chief.
He was replaced by J. Kyomukama who moves from Mukono while southern CID chief J. Okwir moves to CID headquarters.
Police spokesperson Asuman Mugenyi on Monday said the transfers take immediate effect.
Francis Egwoku, who was moved from Masaka is now the southern regional CID chief while J. Aboda moves to Mid East as the regional CID chief.
Western region chief Stephens Otim moves to the inspectorate headquarters while H. Odoch becomes the new western regional CID chief.
