A PERSONNEL assistant in charge of pension and attached to the Uganda Police Force, Kyewalabye Baseka, has been charged with corruption.

Bribery case
A PERSONNEL assistant in charge of pension and attached to the Uganda Police Force, Kyewalabye Baseka, has been charged with corruption.
Police witnesses told Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Deo Nizeyimana that they saw him receiving a bribe, arrested him and took him to CID headquarters with the envelope containing the money on June 4.

Man charged
THE registrar of Nakaseke Primary Teachers College was on Thursday charged with corruption and abuse of office.
Thomas Twinomugisha allegedly solicited for a bribe from a parent as an inducement to admit a student to the school in 2003.
He was released on cash bail and ordered to re-appear on July 8.

Guards held
KABALE Police is holding four armed guards attached to Krone Uganda Limited, a wolfram-mining firm in Rubanda, over the murder of a resident.
Criminal investigations officer Tarisisio Katesigwa said the guards beat a man to death on suspicion of theft. Residents then retaliated by hacking one of the guards to death.

One held
THE Police in Lira are holding Julius Okwel of Namasale sub-county, Apac district for allegedly hacking to death his elder brother.
Criminal investigations boss Charles Erechu said Okwel reportedly quarrelled with his brother over a plot of land left to them by their father.
