FIRE yesterday gutted a boys’ dormitory at Seeta high school in Mukono, destroying property worth over sh100m.

Police said the 10:00am incident occurred when most of the students had gone for classes.

Over 80 students in senior one lost their property worth millions of shillings.

Students fled from their classrooms to rescue their property. The puffing smoke could be visible as far as Seeta town.

By the time the Fire Brigade arrived, all the students property had been destroyed in the inferno.

Mukono Police station officer in charge James Aurien said the Police was investigating the cause of the fire.

He said no student was hurt during the scuffle.

The school director, Chriszestom Muyingo, said the situation was under control, adding that parents should not panic.

“We suspect some people who are against the development in this area could have set fire on the dormitory. The dormitory is well ventilated and by the time of the incidence no student was inside there,” he said.
