SPORT-S men’s team gave their Aporu Okol Memorial tournament preparations a boost by beating Kampala City Council (KCC) 2-0 to the Nkumba Open title on Sunday.
The team overcame a 1-2 loss to KCC during the preliminaries to defeat Nakawa and Blue Tigers 2-1 before ousting Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) 2-0 in the men’s semi-finals.

Meanwhile, KCC women team won the Nkumba Open title for the second successive year with a straight-sets win over Club 61.
KCC seeded number two in the league came through with victories over KAVC A and B teams to reach the finals where they edged Club 61.

In the schools categories, St Mary’s Kitende bagged the boys title after a 3-1 defeat of Marilyn Secondary School while Nabisunsa girls ousted St. Lawrence to claim the girls title.
A record 68 teams took part in the annual Nkumba Open that was sponsored by Coca Cola, Uganda Telecom Ltd, Alpha Diaries and Capital Radio.
