PRIME Minister Apolo Nsibambi on Saturday gave his daughter Lydia Nabagala in marriage at a high profile wedding ceremony at Namirembe Cathedral.

Nabagala married Godfrey Isaiah Mulondo son of Rabbi Ezekiel Mulondo. Namirembe Bishop Samuel Balagadde Sekadde presided over the ceremony. The reverend canons Augustine Musiwuufu and Peter Kigozi assisted him. The bridegroom works with Lonrho Motors, Kampala.

President Yoweri Museveni, vice-president Gilbert Bukenya, Buganda Katikkiro Joseph Ssemogerere, Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki and former president Godfrey Binaisa were among the dignitaries present.

Canon Kigozi urged the newly-weds to protect, respect and be faithful to each other.

Museveni urged parents to ensure that their children get married soon after their studies.

“I do not like this issue of okuhangara (waiting for a long time). They should get married soon after their first degrees. The rest can follow after that,” he said, causing laughter.

Museveni advised the youth to avoid foreign practices that may expose them to diseases.
