Lack of laws which are relevant to the current investment climate is one of the major problems in attracting investments, Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) executive director Dr. Maggie Kigozi has said, reports Vision Reporter.
During an interview recently, Kigozi said the Government had resolved to review 44 commercial laws two years back but they had not been tabled in Parliament to date.
She said the law on intellectual property rights was affecting the entertainment industry where dubbing of music tapes and films was going on without punishing culprits.
“These laws have already been implemented in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. We are concerned about the delay in enforcing them here,” Kigozi said.
