Kenyans sweep all titles

KENYANS showed their class when they swept the inaugural East African club titles at at Lugogo on Saturday.
Armed Forces easily descended on the regional title with an unbeaten record and conceding only a goal against Wanainchi in the final of the four-day event.
Zakariya Msumba and William Okech netted hattricks while Ben Owaga and Benard Mirigi hit a brace each.
Wanainchi’s lonely goal by Franco Yoningom was clearly not a chance intended at scoring.
Sliders and Blue Eaglets enured an all Kenyan final when they both progressed from the semifinals. Sliders however emerged champions after a 2-0 defeat of their fellows.
With Uganda’s poor show, Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) officials now believe it will only be the astrotough to set an improved standards of the game in the country.
