Masindi RDC Hassan Galiwango on Saturday advised Baganda to tone down their language in their quest for federalism, reports Martin Kaahwa.
Speaking at the 42nd independence celebrations at Masindi Stadium, Galiwango advised the Baganda to stop pushing the government against the wall, saying they should remember what happened to Kabaka Mutesa II when he fell out with Milton Obote’s government in 1966.
“I want you to see that the Movement government is very tolerant and democratic. When I listen to CBS fm and read papers, I am forced to conclude that the Baganda have learnt nothing and forgotten nothing about the history of their kingdom,” he said.
He asked the elders to share their experiences of past regimes with the youth so that the youth can make a balanced comparison with the Movement government.
“The Government has tried to address most of our problems and its performance is better than the past regimes.”
Galiwango said the growing private sector was a result of a good environment for investment created by the Movement government.
