PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Monday received a special message from Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki.
The message was delivered at State House, Nakasero by the Kenyan minister in charge of the Somali peace process, John Koech.
Koech briefed the Presi-dent about the Somali peace talks in Nairobi.
He said the Somali delegates voted Abdallah Yusuf as the new President for Somalia, a State House statement said yesterday.
Koech said the Somali delegates requested Museveni, in his capacity as the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) chairman, to liaise with the African Union chairman to provide a peace-keeping force to their country.
He thanked Museveni for his contribution towards the search for a permanent solution to the conflict in Somalia.
Museveni pledged to support Somalia.
