A row has erupted between the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom and a family of Edward Kaliisa.

This follows a land dispute where the late Omukama Andrea Duhaga and his wife were buried at Kinogozi royal tombs at Buhimba sub-county in Hoima district.
Kaliisa said the late king and his wife were buried on his late father’s land.

Duhaga was an uncle to King Solomon Gafabusa.
Kingdom officials said the land belongs to the kingdom.

Kaliisa filed a case in court accusing four kingdom officials of destroying his property in the disputed piece of land.

Hoima Grade One Court Magistrate Ronald Ssekaja summoned the officials to answer charges of malicious damage.

The accused are the head of Babito clan, John Olimi Nyabongo, Orukur-ato deputy speaker Abbi Hairora, Manager Francis Atugonza and Iguru from the royal family.
