The Uganda National examinations Board (UNEB) will deploy about 5,000 scouts to check any irregularities during the forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations.

UNEB publicist Eve Konde yesterday said about 400,000 pupils would sit for the two-day examinations that start on Thursday.
“We have also made arrangements for candidates in the internally displaced persons’ camps. The district inspectors of schools are to decide where the pupils will sit from,” she said.

Konde said UNEB could not help pupils whose examination fees were embezzled by errant headteachers.
“UNEB deals with schools that have registration centres and we expect parents to enroll their children in such schools. But the government or the Police will sort that out,” she said.
