Burahya county MP Stephen Basaliiza has asked his electorate not to judge him by how much time he spends with them, but by the quality of the services he brings them. “My work is to be in Parliament and get tasks done, that result in bringing services closer to you,” Basaliiza said. He was on Tuesday speaking at Muguusu sub-county headquarters in Kabarole district.

Leaders hail

Kabarole district leaders have hailed the UN children’s Fund, Unicef, for the achievements of its 2001-2005 country programme especially for children, the youth and women’s welfare. The deputy district speaker, Patrick Asiimwe Rukuya, made the compliment recently while closing a two-day workshop at Mucwa Chambers in Fort Portal.

THE UN high commissioner for refugees (UNHCR) has donated a computer worth US$2,500 (sh4.37m) to Mbarara resident district commissioner Clement Kandole. The UNHCR head of field office, Adan Diis Iimi, on Tuesday said the donation would ease the RDC’s work.
