RECOVERING from a humiliating defeat to Kenyans in the MTN Uganda Open Golf, top Ugandan players have sought solace in the Rwanda Open due next week.

Defending champion Deo Akope and his compatriots Charles Yokwe, Dennis Anguyo and Godfrey Mande have entered the November 12-14 event in Kigali.
“We will try to go for a 1-2-3 clean sweep in Rwanda,” Yokwe said.

The Ugandans, who depart on Tuesday to get acquainted to the course, will be up against Rwandan top golfers Emmanuel Ruterana, Stephen Katwiremu, Joseph Semwanga and Davis Kashaka among others.

More Ugandans from Kabale, Jinja, Kampala and Entebbe golf clubs are expected to compete in the tournament.
