KAMULI — A libel case, which Parliament deputy speaker Rebecca Kadaga instituted against Bulamogi county MP Nelson Gaggawala, recently failed to take off at the High Court because the trial judge was sick. Kadaga sued Gaggawala seeking damages for allegedly accusing her of terrorising her political opponents in her constituency.

Church clean
JINJA — Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Friday cleaned Bugembe Health Centre IV and slashed the bush around it. Church official Bartholomew Agirai said they cleaned the centre because “a clean environment enhances quick recovery.”

Kids at risk
JINJA — Children living in houses without ceilings are at risk of fornication. Deputy Busoga Katukiro Nsubuga Bewayo told an HIV/AIDS workshop at Bugembe on Friday that as parents made love at night, children heard over the walls. He said the children then practised with their colleagues what their parents did at night.

Hospital gets
MBALE — The Latter Rain Gospel Ministries on Wednesday donated 12 wheelchairs worth sh3m to Mbale hospital. Pastor Geoffrey Wanyama handed over the wheelchairs to the acting medical superintendent, Dr. Gerald Makoba, at the hospital.
