FOR the third time in a row, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has scooped the award for East Africa’s Most Respected Company.

FOR the third time in a row, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has scooped the award for East Africa’s Most Respected Company.

Charles Muchene, the director of the survey and PricewaterhouseCoopers’s (PwC) leader in Kenya said 249 business leaders took part in the survey.

The theme for the survey was, ‘Inspired Cooperation.’

Muchene said companies are respected because of sound business strategies, innovation, good financial performance and customer care and sound management.

The survey, conducted and sponsored by PwC and the Nation Media Group is carried out among chief executives and business leaders.

The function took place on Saturday at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

SafariCom of Kenya scooped the award for most respected firm in the telecom and information technology sector. Celtel Tanzania and Vodacom Tanzania were in the second and third positions respectively.

Kenya Airways topped the services sector, followed by Aga Khan Health Services and Nakuma Stores of Kenya in second and third positions respectively.

Bidco Oil topped the manufacturing sector, followed by Bamburi Cement and Mukwano Group of Companies came third.

Hotels and tourism, financial services and agricultural sector are the other sectors for which awards were given.
