Kabaka Mutebi made a great speech on products
SIR— I was excited when I listened to the speech by Kabaka Ronald Mutebi (left) when he visited the city centre recently. As somebody engaged in fighting substandard products on the market, I was happy to hear the Kabaka talk about fake cement.
SIR— I was excited when I listened to the speech by Kabaka Ronald Mutebi (left) when he visited the city centre recently. As somebody engaged in fighting substandard products on the market, I was happy to hear the Kabaka talk about fake cement.
In his own words, after thanking the traders for the good work they were doing, he emphasised that some of the products the traders were dealing in had a big negative impact on the health and safety of people’s lives.
He singled out cement which he said if tampered with (underweight or adulterated) causes injury and death.
He also referred to builders who make wrong mixes of cement, sand, etc, that result in weak structures that later collapse and kill people.
I thank the Kabaka for his timely call.
Furthermore, I hope all Baganda businessmen who love Kabaka will henceforth avoid dealing in fake and dangerous products on the market.
