KHALIFA Lwanga and his Butambala Mataali group thrilled fans at a captivating concert at Hotel Africana on Idd day.

Lwanga and his ensemble entertained their audience with an impressive Mataali repertoire, with spiritual and secular songs. The irresistible throbbing sounds of the Mataali marvelled many people.

The spiritual and social messages in the songs touched everyone’s heart.

Khalifa’s instrumentalists exhibited high skills. Singers Khalifa Hoodu and Musitafa performed with vigour.

The concert also featured the Kamuli-based Al Watan Musical Club, which played Swahili Taraab music of the coast.

The Al Watan singers received much support from the youthful members of the audience, who enjoyed their music.

However, some people were highly critical of their erotic strokes and dress code.

Hotel Africana management organised the concert to congratulate Muslims upon completion of the holy month of Ramadhan.
