TANZANIA has to wait for the Ugandan court to decide whether the two men wanted for bank robbery should be handed over.
Tanzania’s director of public prosecution asked the Ugandan government to hand over the suspects for trial in Tanzania.
The Nakawa Magistrate’s Court yesterday adjourned the ruling to December 2 after Magistrate Margaret Mafabi failed to turn up.
Charles Malomero Samonya Lumago and Shaban Wayobona are wanted by the Tanzanian authorities in connection with robbery of Tzsh5.3b (sh10b).
The robbery took place at the Moshi branch of the National Bank of Commerce on May 21.
The two men who were brought to the Court under tight security yesterday were later returned to Luzira Prison.
Lumago and Wayobona, all of Mbale, were arrested by the Violent Crime Crack-down Unit a month ago.
