He was addressing the 6th graduation ceremony of Pearl Institute of Cosmetology, Design and Commercial Studies at Makerere Hill Road recently. A total of 123 graduands were conferred diplomas and certificates.

NRM denies
KAMPALA — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) secretariat has denied allegations by the Uganda people’s Congress (UPC) that it was sabotaging registration of other parties. The director of information, Ofwono Opondo, was responding to press reports that NRM was behind a fictitious group that was allegedly laying claim to UPC’s name and symbols.

AIDS boost
MAKINDYE — About 230 children in Wabigalo parish are to benefit from the Community HIV/AIDS Initiative free education project starting next year. The project chairman, Bosco Lule, said the parish had received sh12m from Government and Kampala City Council to boost the programme.

Police warns
KAMPALA — The Police have intensified foot and mobile patrols in the city to make it safe for residents ahead of the festive season. The city regional CID officer, George Kanonko, said security would be beefed in taxi and bus parks and all leisure and entertainment centres.
