THE Shell U-16 football tournament has started with football trainers from Mbarara being taken through a course.

THE Shell U-16 football tournament has started with football trainers from Mbarara being taken through a course.

The popular youth tournament that attracts players from all over the country, starts on December 17 with the preliminaries.

Friends of Football (FOF) officials intend to move round the country training coaches.

They are currently in Masaka and will be in Kampala and Kayunga this weekend. There will also be courses at Old Kampala.

This will be followed by a champions league, knockout stage.
The finals are expected be held in January next year.

Shell Uganda has pumped sh30m into the tournament that is fast becoming one of the leading youth soccer competitions in the country. Many children on holiday are expected to participate.
