MUKONO — A man killed a suspected thief in Kabonero in Kyampisi county on Friday. John Sentongo cut Magadela Ogalo on the head using a panga after he found him in his plantation. The in-charge of Kyampisi Police post, James Olao, said Sentongo was arrested after he handed himself over to them.

Nurses irked
WAKISO — The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council has decried the number of clinics mushrooming in the country. The chairperson, Specioza Mbabali, said some of the nurses in these clinics were not qualified. She was speaking at a meeting for principals of nursing schools at Ulrika Guest House in Entebbe.

MP appeals
JINJA — schools should encourage the teaching of French and Swahili, Kagoma county MP Frank Nabwiso has said. He said this would help Ugandans to get jobs abroad. The MP was speaking at Gateway High School on Sunday.
