CAPITAL Markets Authority (CMA) has licensed a third fund manager to boost the financial sector and improve handling of savings.

CMA licensed AIG Global Investment Company this month adding to African Alliance Uganda and Stanbic Investment Management Services.

Japheth Katto, CMA’S chief executive officer said the new fund manager would enhance proper allocation of savings.

“Fund managers are vital for mobilisation and allocation of savings. They have experience in the financial sector and know where to put money to benefit the saver,” Katto said during an interview recently.

Katto said fund managers are vital in the liberalisation of the pension sector.
