VOTERS anxious to cast their ballots in the LC3 elections yesterday, remained crowded in most polling stations in Pallisa district up to around 3:00pm when they returned home disappointed and cursing the Electoral Commission (EC), reports Jonathan Angura. The district registrar, Leonard Mulekwa, said the voters waited patiently until it was learnt that the elections could not take place because the election materials had not been delivered. Meanwhile, the elections for the Nangabo LC3 chairmen and councillors yesterday flopped due to failure of the EC to deliver the voting materials.Several people who braved the downpour from morning to 2:30pm were disappointed when they were told to disperse at 3:00pm.Most of the voters vacated all the polling stations in the nine parishes of Nangabo sub-county, Wakiso district.Returning officer Mr. Mboove declined to make any comment. However, personnel from the office of the district Chief Administrative Officer advised residents to return today in big numbers and vote.Ends
