Islamabad, Friday - The United States-led anti-terrorism coalition said on Friday that armed members of the al-Qaeda organisation and the Taliban were still on the loose.“There are still armed people of al-Qaeda and Taliban here and there who can disrupt humanitarian aid efforts. So there is a long way to go (in the war in Afghanistan),” a spokesman for the coalition, Kenton Keith, told reporters .He did not provide information on the suspected location of the bands in Afghanistan but the U.S. forces came under fire in Kandahar late Thursday shortly after an American transport plane left with the first group of Taliban and al-Qaeda prisoners for a facility at the U.S. navy base at Guantanamo, Cuba. The US-led coalition whose bombing pulverised the Taliban regime has so far detained about 351 Taliban and al-Qaeda members.Ends
