1,000 water points for Nebbi

NEBBI District Local Government is to construct 1003 water points to supply clean water the LC5 boss Esrom Alenyo has said.Albert Ondoga reports that Alenyo told the New Vision in a brief interview in Kampala that the construction of the water points will start early this year.He also revealed that the construction of the long awaited Nyagak Hydro-Power dam which will supply electricity in West Nile region will begin in May this year.Alenyo who is seeking re-election said the council will construct two main water supply stations in Pakwach and Nebbi towns starting in August.He said the council’s major priorities are ensuring that the district has a good feeder road network, clean water, health centres and mobile clinics in the rural areas. Alenyo said the European Union and some American donors would contribute funds for the planned projects.He said the council had already constructed 35 concrete bridges to replace the old-fashioned timber ones which were always washed being away by heavy rains.
