Awuzu hails West Nile distilling factory officers

THE state minister for transport, Andruale Awuzu, has praised the West Nile Distilling Company which he said was in line with the Government policy of diversifying the national export base and providing employment.

By Dawin Dawa in Arua THE state minister for transport, Andruale Awuzu, has praised the West Nile Distilling Company which he said was in line with the Government policy of diversifying the national export base and providing employment.Officiating at the staff new-year party on Saturday, Awuzu said the Government was providing infrastructure to facilitate local investment.He said Pakwach-Karuma road and Arua-Kampala trunk road will be tarmacked.He also said Uganda Electricity Distributing Company will soon put two big generators in Arua districtThe executive chairman of West Nile Distilling Company, Dr. Eric Adriko, said the factory which consumes 60,000 litres of water employs 50 people, whose monthly wage bill is sh4m and contributes sh25m in taxes to the Government.He said there was 50% revenue growth in the past years.Adriko said they faced a problem in marketing but was addressed through aggressive advertising.
