By William Muwonge PAUL Mutambuze wants to score more success on the local table tennis scene. Mutambuze opens his campaign this year at the Makerere Open. The new season opener is due March 8-10. Uganda’s number two player will warm up for the event at the national rankings tournament now underway in Kampala. The two-week rankings show that determines who is who among Ugandan players started on Wednesday. Mutambuze will be the man to beat going into the Makerere Open as the men’s singles title holder. “I am getting set for the challenge, it promises to be a closely contested event,” Mutambuze said. “Many players are preparing strongly for the event, they want to oust me.” The player-cum-coach will again come up against several of the players he beat at last year’s show. Mutambuze outwitted number seven seed James Kiyimba 3-1 in the final.ends
