Ikondere Killer Dead

By Vision ReporterA MAI MAI militia commander, Fabiane Mudohu, who is suspected to have killed Lt. Col. Reuben Ikondere, is reported dead, Congo rebel authorities and the captured militia men have said.Mudohu is reported to have died on Sunday in Butembo, eastern DRC, from bullet wounds he sustained in a gun-battle with the militiamen and rebels led by Mbusa Nyamwisi on February 2.“We got that report that that man (Mudohu) died,” Mbusa told journalists at his palace in Beni on Tuesday. “We are trying to establish the incident but our contacts tell us he is dead. So it could be true,” Mbusa added.Ikondere, who was killed in Beni town, was the area sector commander of the UPDF. “It is our wish that he is dead because he is notorious,” senior commander in Mbusa’s rebel faction said.Mudohu is said to have been leading a 4000-strong force of Mai Mai militiamen.Ends
