Jinja LC5 candidate vows to scrap monarchy

Hannington Basakana, has promised to abolish the Kyabazinga institution, saying it is a liability to the tax-payers.Basakana said this during a candidates meeting on Monday at Bugembe sports stadium.He said the institution was siphoning resources of the tax-payers without accountability. “I have not seen anything that this institution has done apart from wasting our money and if I get into power, I will see to it that it is swept out,” he said.He added that the kingdom was full of money-hungry people seeking all possible avenues to exploit the poor.
